Move Things Around

The simplest way to see your home differently costs nothing at all.

Move Things Around

Before deciding that a room needs something new, move something you already own.

Take the lamp from the bedside table and try it on the console. Move a small object from one room into another. Turn a chair slightly. Bring something usually kept on a shelf down to where you can actually see it.

Objects change when their surroundings change.

A piece that disappeared into one corner can suddenly become the thing that gives another room character. Familiar colours begin to relate differently. Shapes you had stopped noticing become visible again.

There is no need to find the perfect position immediately. Move things, live with them for a while, and move them again.

Sometimes refreshing a home has very little to do with bringing something new into it.

It is simply about seeing what is already there with fresh eyes.
